Meditation: Live Stress Free with Music and Meditation

What does it all have to do with Meditation?

Music.

Stress is a huge problem today, being blamed for increasing heart disease and elevating blood pressure while meditation is known to reduce the detrimental effects of stress. Studies are consistently showing that music induces positive changes in the cardiovascular and respiratory systems of people listening to music, and aids in reducing the negative impact of stress on the body.

Combined with Meditation the effect is even more powerful.

Music has been shown to reduce stress, assist the physical abilities of stroke patients, and increase milk production in cattle. Meditation is also known to reduce blood pressure, promote memory recollection, and improve quality of life by inducing relaxation within the mind and subsequently the body.

While the style of music is not important, the tempo is, and individual preferences of singer, group, or composer doesn't matter. Fast music increased the heart and breathing patterns while slow music had the opposite effect, creating a calm and peaceful state and helps the listener to relax.

Meditation does not need to be done in complete silence.

There are many forms of meditation, including meditating while walking or performing menial tasks, but meditation is enhanced when music or sound is introduced.

Pauses between tracks of music further enabled relaxation to become deeper. Combined with rhythmic breathing and meditation techniques, patients can enter meditation faster and experience a deeper state of meditation.

Listening to music for therapy is a passive rather than an active experience and by alternating slow rhythms with pauses, it can have a positive effect on cardiovascular disease in much the same way that meditation also slows down heart rate and lowers blood pressure.

The health benefits of meditation are becoming more widely known and when music is added into the meditation session it elevates the relaxation experience and the physical and mental results.

Meditation combined with music is a non-invasive and inexpensive method with many advantages.
