Part1: How To Meditate to be Healthy Wealthy and Really Smart

What is Meditation
Each blog posting will take you through the process in detail. It's not something to be rushed, and learning how not to feel pressured or rushed is definitely a topic for another day. You are not alone in your attempts to meditate and if you follow the techniques each day, you will be on your way to a healthy life, filled with a wealth of knowledge on how to make tough choices.

There is often some confusion as to what's really going on when a person meditates.
First, if you are someone who is either new to meditation or have tried it in the past and struggled, the mind is not "empty."

Meditation is a single pointed focus and you can do it when sitting in a quiet place, with your eyes closed or open, when walking outdoors, or even by a window watching the clouds drift by.

The important thing to remember is to concentrate.

That's the hard part. When we still our bodies, or take a quiet stroll and attempt to focus on one thing, we succeed for a few moments only to have feelings or thoughts intrude and before we know it we've forgotten all about our meditation and we're off thinking about something else.

To begin any meditation, try to focus on an object within your mind's eye. I like to teach new students the technique of focusing on a flame of a candle. Keep trying this and you should find it gets easier with practice.

That's the Healthy Wealthy and Really Smart way to begin.
