HEALTHY MIND, HEALTHY BODY

HEALTHY MIND, HEALTHY BODY

The causal relationship between germs and illness has been known for many years. If you expose yourself to a particular germ you are likely to succumb to it, if you don’t take adequate precautions such as washing your hands.
However, modern research has now shown that just because you are EXPOSED to or even CARRYING a germ, you may not actually develop the disease if your immune system is STRONG.

Many factors weaken the body’s ability to fight infection.

It is estimated that an average person thinks about 12,000 thoughts per day, while a deep thinker can think up to 50,000 thoughts.

Deepak Chopra states that while 95% of what we think ARE the same thoughts as we had yesterday, 75% of the average person’s thoughts are negative.

That’s between 9,000 and almost 38,000 negative thoughts every single day.

POSITIVE ATTITUDE
A positive attitude and environment goes a long way in keeping you healthy.
Who or What limits you?
What supplies you with your best flow of positive energy?

AFFIRMATION

Bring awareness to the breath and the link between the mind and body.
Slow the breath down until it becomes slow, steady, and even.
This may take a few breaths or a few minutes.
Take as long as you need.

With each exhalation I breath out all that is stressful.
With each inhalation I breathe in peace.

I am strong and resilient.
I am whole and healthy.
I am ready to receive.

Dallas Ashrama

Margaret at the homa area

The following postings take the place of the regular meditations until I return to Boston on Tuesday.
I hope that you enjoy my brief accounts of my attendance at the Symphony of Yoga Conference in Frisco TX.

Jaya Guru Devi
This evening we visited the newly built Dallas Ashrama of Sri Swamiji Ganapati Sachchidananda. There was a traditional ceremony around a homa, which is a ceremonial fire. Mantras were chanted and it was quite delightful to be present and witness the energy around the homa as well as breath in the fragrant air.

Sri Swamiji arrived to perform puja to inaugurate the new building. Musicians played while the prayers were being offered. This was the first time that the temple was officially used.

The temple sits on 10 acres and is a very tranquil space.

Sri Swamiji chanted a new mantra to the large audience of several hundred men, women, and children. The mantra is very powerful but it is also so new that I will have to see if I can have a copy to share with you.

On Saturday evening there will be a concert by Sri Swamiji so I look forward to telling you about that soon.

I arrived in Dallas to a 101F temperature. That was at least 30 degrees warmer than Boston.

It was wonderful to meet with Kaliji again and to be in her glowing presence.

The timing of my arrival was perfect as we left 10 minutes later to a children's center where they were attending a spiritual camp. Kaliji taught mudras and flows to the different age groups and there was a LOT of energy there.

Swamiji visited the center too and spent time teaching the children.

This evening we are attending Swamiji's Dallas temple.
